Spanish Oasis

Spanish Oasis is a residential landscape in La Quinta, California, that reimagines Spanish Colonial courtyard living for the desert. The property is conceived in two movements: a formal front arrival that establishes the architectural character, and a private rear oasis that extends that character into a sequence of outdoor rooms centered on water.

The front arrival is set with mature pygmy date palms lining the approach, a stone fountain near the front door, a bougainvillea-covered arbor, and a flowering tree positioned to screen the garage from the street. Together these elements soften the architecture along the exposed aggregate drive before arriving at stone columns and a path of steps marking the entry.

A raised pool wrapped in Spanish tile anchors a sequence of outdoor rooms. An integrated spa and water-feature wall bring sound and movement to the garden, while planting and lighting shape intimate settings for family gatherings.
