Finding beauty in the natural, transient, and understated. The design embraces the wabi-sabi aesthetic, integrating regenerative features—local materials, native plants, rainwater retention—to create a landscape that appears as though it had always been there.

A dialogue between architecture and place, inspired by trees. The structure of the house mimics the surrounding oaks—their limbs extending horizontally from solid trunks—so that architecture and landscape align with elegant effect.

Bird House

A pavilion-style weekend house that blurs the line between inside and out, opening to the vineyards and rolling fog of Napa Valley.

Surfer's Paradise

A coastal Malibu garden where the cultivated meets the wild rhythm of seaside living. The design weaves native meadow, olive grove, and hidden garden into a sequence of moments—intimate and open, sheltered and endless—rooted in the landscape of Point Dume.

Oak Sanctuary

A minimalist intervention that holds back to let the existing beauty of the land prevail. Four parcels are drawn together not by architecture but by the quiet continuity of native planting and the woodland that already was there, so that cultivated and wild settle into one another without a seam. Across the compound, spaces for work, gathering, wellness, and play unfold gently within the trees, each kept soft enough that peace and comfort remain the prevailing feeling.

Spanish Oasis

A contemporary reverie on Spanish Colonial courtyard living, set against the desert light of La Quinta. Here, the formality of a measured arrival gives way to a private oasis of water, shade, and flowering stillness—where Mediterranean romance quietly takes root in the arid California landscape.

The Getty Villa

An archaeological dig around a restored Roman Imperial House. The master plan creates a new sequence of spaces along the hillside, with new gardens and naturalistic landscapes that anchor the architecture to the site and create integrated environmental art.

Knotts Berry Farm

An immersive Old West landscape where architecture, landscape, history, and legend converge. The design transforms the environment around GhostRider into a richly layered sense of place, extending the story of the Gold Rush beyond the ride and into the terrain itself.

A lifestyle community on the quiet side of the Tetons, where world-class recreation and the rhythms of mountain living flow together. The landscape architecture for Phase 2 weaves a David McLay Kidd golf course, trout streams, wetlands, a lake, parks, and trails into the land, extending the natural beauty of the greater Yellowstone ecosystem into the daily life of the community.

Anchored by the world's first purpose-built women's professional sports stadium, the design weaves together pedestrian-friendly streetscapes and vertical amenity decks to redefine the Missouri Riverfront as an inclusive, connected urban environment.

A master-planned community inspired by the rustic beauty of Mexico's Valle de Guadalupe, where natural materials, native landscape, and interlinked paseos converge. The design reimagines the Valle's textural architecture and earthy aesthetic for San Diego, weaving warmth, walkability, and authentic community connection into a new sense of place.

A 300-key meeting and guestroom expansion that gives the existing Gaylord Texan Resort a fresh new image — a contemporary interpretation of Texas heritage and the indigenous natural environment.
